Powder coating in Hennigsdorf – for Berlin and Brandenburg
From the one-off part to the DB-qualified series: resistant powder coatings for steel and aluminium – with in-house surface preparation.
PICTUM Oberflächentechnik GmbH powder coats metal components made of steel and aluminium at the Hennigsdorf location near Berlin – from one-off production for private customers to series production for rail vehicle manufacturers and industrial companies.
The process
In powder coating, electrostatically charged powder coating material is applied to the earthed component and then cured in the oven. In the process the powder cross-links to form a closed, mechanically resilient layer. The prerequisite for a durable result is surface preparation: depending on the condition of the component, we blast or paint strip the surface before coating in house – you receive the complete process chain from a single source, without additional transport between several service providers.

Qualified for Deutsche Bahn
We hold coater qualification to DBS 918340 – for the powder coating of aluminium for interior and exterior use as well as steel for exterior use. For suppliers to the rail vehicle industry this means: your components are coated and inspected according to the documented requirements of Deutsche Bahn. Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015.
Technical properties and process limits of powder coating
Depending on the substrate, the surface preparation and the coating system used, high mechanical resistance as well as durable weathering and corrosion protection can be achieved. The process is solvent-free and economical for series production because overspray is largely recovered. The process limits arise mainly from oven curing: the component must withstand the oven temperatures. Where a wet paint system meets the requirements better – for example with custom colour shades or specified multi-layer systems – we select the suitable process together with you, because both are available in house.
Ordering and lead time
