Paint stripping in Hennigsdorf: chemical and thermal – for Berlin and Brandenburg

Substrate-specific removal of existing paint and powder coatings – chemical or thermal, as a standalone service or as the first step towards recoating.

PICTUM Oberflächentechnik GmbH strips metal components at its site in Hennigsdorf near Berlin – chemically or thermally, depending on the substrate, the coating and the component geometry. We offer paint stripping as a standalone service or as the first step of a full recoating with blasting, powder coating or wet painting in-house.

Two processes, one objective

In chemical stripping, paint and powder layers are released with stripping media – gentle on the substrate and therefore also suitable for aluminium and dimensionally critical components. In thermal stripping, the organic coatings are decomposed by heat; this process suits robust steel parts and stubborn or thick existing coatings. Which process is the right one for your component is decided on the basis of the base material, the existing coating system and the intended use – both processes are available in-house.

Applications

From coating-defect rework to jig stripping

Typical tasks: stripping of coating defects during ongoing production, removing coatings from jigs and workpiece carriers used in coating plants, refurbishing used components prior to recoating, and rail vehicle components within overhaul programmes. Private customers have old paint layers stripped from gates, railings, wheel rims or metal furniture.

Process selection and benefits

Professional paint stripping also reaches cavities, corners and edges that remain inaccessible to mechanical grinding. The process is matched to the base material, the existing coating system, the component geometry and the subsequent processing step; dimensional accuracy and functional surfaces are protected. Combined with subsequent blasting, the result is a defined substrate ready for coating. For commercial buyers this means: stripping, blasting and recoating run at PICTUM as one process chain with one contact person, one delivery date and continuous quality responsibility to ISO 9001:2015.

How it works and contact

Send us a short description of your parts – substrate, type of existing coating, dimensions, quantity, ideally with a photo – to info@pictumgmbh.de or call us on +49 3302 208113. We recommend the appropriate stripping process and prepare a quotation, including recoating on request.

Delivery is possible Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 15:45 at the site Am Rathenaupark, Gebäude 100 (Alstom site), 16761 Hennigsdorf. Our production works from 06:00 to 23:45 – larger stripping orders too, such as regular jig stripping for coating companies, are scheduled to meet your deadline. Customers from Hennigsdorf, Berlin and all of Brandenburg reach us quickly via the B96/A111.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about paint stripping

Which parts can be stripped and up to what size?
We strip metal components in steel and aluminium – from small parts and jigs through to large components of approx. 8 × 2.5 × 3 m (length × width × height). Send us the substrate and the dimensions and we will confirm feasibility straight away.
Chemical or thermal – which paint stripping process is the right one?
Chemical stripping is gentle on the substrate and is therefore also suitable for aluminium and dimensionally critical precision parts. Thermal stripping removes thick or stubborn coatings from robust steel parts. We assess your component and recommend the appropriate process – both are available in-house.
How does a paint stripping job work?
You send us the substrate, the type of existing coating, the dimensions and the quantity (a photo is welcome) to info@pictumgmbh.de. After the quotation you deliver the parts to Hennigsdorf; we strip them and return them stripped – or blast and recoat them directly.
How long does paint stripping take?
The duration depends on the process, the coating thickness and the quantity; we state the binding date with the quotation. Our production hours from 06:00 to 23:45 also allow short-notice and recurring orders.
Can stripped parts be recoated directly?
Yes – this is the most common route: after stripping we blast the parts and coat them directly with powder or wet paint, all at one site in Hennigsdorf. You save transport, avoid intermediate corrosion and receive stripping and recoating from a single source.

Parts to be stripped?

Substrate, existing coating and dimensions are enough – with recoating as a package on request.
